Members of the Illinois HealthCHECK Coalition join lawmakers at the Capitol in Springfield, Ill., Thurs., Feb. 17, 2005, to introduce a key initiative to empower consumers making health care decisions.

The coalition is representative of the extraordinary broad-based support from the legislative, civic, business and labor communities for House Bill 2343 that will allow consumers to compare price and quality for procedures at outpatient treatment facilities.  By being able to compare different health care facilities on a consumer-friendly Web site, Illinois residents will have more control over and greater confidence in their non-emergency medical decisions.  Consumers are urged to visit www.ilhealthcheck.com to find out more about this important health care initiative (House Bill 2343) that impacts all Illinoisans and their families.
